Computer Cut PPF Kits do a great job at protecting the paint and clear coat on your vehicle, but what things are primarily responsible for damaging them?

Primary Causes of damage to your
Paint and Clear Coat

Rocks and Road Debris

The clear coat on vehicles is easily damaged when struck by rocks and other road debris that get flipped up. Our Computer Cut PPF Kit will help protect against rock chips and road debris, but there are other important things you can do to help further protect your vehicle.

  • Avoid driving behind vehicle with large, oversized tires
  • Avoid driving behind vehicles with dually wheels
  • Avoid driving behind trucks without mud flaps

These vehicles are prone to flipping rocks and other road debris into the air, so don’t let your car be what’s behind them when they do.

Sun Damage

The sun does plenty of things well, including damaging the clear coat on your vehicle.  Direct sunlight on your vehicle will, in time, cause the protective clear coat to become fragile and eventually leads to its failure.  Once the sun has damaged your clear coat, there is nothing left to protect your paint.  Our PPF kits help block UV rays and protect your clear coat and paint from being damaged.  Keeping your vehicle parked in a garage will go a long way in protecting the paint from sun damage.

Using The Wrong Cleaning Products

Unfortunately, our kits can’t ensure you’re cleaning your car correctly. Using household cleaning products—such as dish soap—is one of the worst things you can do. Dish soaps can break down the protective wax coatings because they aren’t formulated for use on a car’s paint. Check out this Wiki how link for great guidelines on washing your car. We use Meguiar’s G7164 Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner , and recommend it without reserve. Meguir’s has a great bundle available on Amazon; check it out here.
